Rossi Ranch Hand Review

The Rossi Ranch hand is a Mare’s leg reproduction lever action rifle made in Brazil. At around $700 Canadian, they’re the least expensive of the current Mare’s leg style rifles on the market.

In Canada, most Mare’s leg rifles (Rossi, Henry, & Chiappa) use 12″ barrels instead of the 16″ barrels they’re limited to in the US.

Shooting the Rossi Ranch Hand

With the included stock, it’s. . . .pretty hard to fire accurately. The length of pull is incredibly short so it’s hard to fire shouldered. Firing off hand out from your body is possible, but is not accurate or great to try. At least 38/357 doesn’t recoil a bunch.

Buying a Rossi 92 full length stock as an option is nice. It makes the rifle easier to shoot accurately and the whole thing is still very compact.

Conclusion

The other Mare’s leg options on the market in Canada are the Henry and Chiappa. The Chiappa is $1000-1100-ish and the Henry is $1100-1300 so they’re both quite a bit more than the Rossi and they also both use 12-13″ barrels. I don’t like to make a habit of spending a pile on a NICE meme gun so if you want to spend less on a meme gun, check out the Rossi Ranch Hand.
