Remington Thunderbolt Review

Remington Thunderbolt Review

Remington Thunderbolt

Relatively unloved by most of our test rifles except the Norinco NS522, Remington Thunderbolt has some good things going for it that should have translated to accuracy: a simple, unplated lead bullet construction. In terms of a high speed (1260 FPS) 40 grain offering, I preferredĀ the CCI Mini-Mags.

Remington Thunderbolt Accuracy

Group Inches at 50 yards

Second worst overall accuracy among the high velocity offerings. It doesn’t mean it won’t be a champ in your rifle, it just means that we didn’t get fantastic groups out of it in ours. At least it was much better than the Winchester Super Speed RN.

Worst group from Savage MkII? That’s surprising. Was it an Accutrigger model? Sporter barrel or bull?
