1-4X AR15 Scopes Compared | The Hunting Gear Guy

I was recently researching 1-4 scopes to get on a 3 gun rifle, and found that availability and models have really exploded, and that there were few articles showing what was available. So, I decided to take a crack at listing which 1-4 AR scopes were out there and where you can get them in the US or Canada. I’ve left out the 1-6 and 1-8 scopes just to keep things focused.

Special features on 1-4x scopes for AR-15’s

30mm tubes (24mm objectives) are used on more expensive scopes, and gather a bit more light/have more adjustment range than the 1″ tubes that have 20mm objectives.
Most of these scopes offer some sort of drop calculated reticle that makes engaging targets at 100-500 yards easier. (unless they’re FFP, these marks usually only work at 4X)
FFP (First Focal Plane) to zoom the reticle and maintain the drop is offered on some. It’s a much higher cost feature, so it’s not typically available on more inexpensive scopes.
Some of these scopes offer illuminated reticles that make them operate similar to a red dot at 1X: great for CQB or close in shooting.
Easily turnable target turrets come on most of these scopes, making it easy to dial in for further yardage.
